Politics As Usual

I’ve been trying to get more into politics this year than I have in the past. There are a number of reasons for this, but my most major concern is that I am going to be affected by this. I would qualify as the “Average Joe” in this country. Another is that this was a historical primary for the Democratic ticket. In the primaries, it came down to a women and a black man. We’ve never had either of these as a president in the United States of America, which prompted me to wonder what will happen in this election. Once the Democratic primaries were over, I saw that Barack Obama had won the Democratic ticket. Considering that the Clinton administration was fairly popular, I decided to look into Barack Obama.

I must say, I liked what I saw. He seemed like someone who knew what he was talking about. But the thing that made him better was his lack of experience. In this manner, he does not have to live under the shelter of what has already happened, but under the shelter of what will happen. While critics view this as a bad thing, I see it as a positive. He has a wide range of options, and knowing the faults of previous administrations, including the current President Bush, makes him all the more knowledgeable about this.

However, I also decided to look at the Republicans. During the primary season, I did not see many changes in how they went about business. I didn’t really see anything that sparked an interest in them with me. When McCain won, I knew I had heard that name before. I was right. Just like many of the other candidates, he had done something worth naming in the past. I looked into his plans somewhat, and I was a little thrown off.

Even more so, I’ve just been appalled by both candidates lately. Neither of them have been making sure that they dodge the traps set by the other. Neither really seem to have done anything outside of the usual politics. From “Joe the Plumber” to all this rhetoric, it becomes an annoyance when you see such intelligent people, which you hope could break from the past, just following in the footsteps of those who have failed in the past. Not only that, but those who have been disliked in the past. To be honest, I hate how the candidates have been speaking lately. I just hate the fact that they’ve gone back to politics as usual.

This is just my take on the issue. I’m sure you will have your own opinions, so feel free to post them.

Music

Music is often a large part of life. It is in those times of deep sorrow and times of joy that we look for a noise to help bring about our emotions and support ourselves.

I’ve been looking around for new music. I tried searching around Last.fm and I also have two media players. I use both to listen to music. However, it’s a bit repetitive. This blog post is gonig to end really soon. However, I just felt like stating my opinion.

New Day

For many people, it is hard to imagine that they are a failure. I alone cannot be a sole figure who keeps this view and knows it to be true within myself. While many people may hold intelligence, an interrogative analytical side, or even a sense or pure wisdom, very few people do I know that hold the qualities of the previously stated qualities and those which you know I would list if I could put words to the seldom intelligence of the mind.

Big words, small words, and life. Many cannot believe what happens in life, and I too an on this boat. Recently, on Friday, June 13, 2008 Tim Russert passed away. He was a journalist, yet I feel as though he honestly was a hero. You can take the word in your own meaning, yet holding the qualities that many wished we could hold all at once is something he did. His co-workers, friends, and family truly miss him. Even those who did not know Tim, yet they knew him, missed him. It can be uncomprehendable as to how much you truly miss something or someone, even when you experience the empathy other feel. You may feel a loss, yet you may also not feel any pain whatsoever. When you are on a limb, you may say what your mind tells you, yet you do no understand what you are saying. To Tim Russert I say, you truly were one of the greatest and most influential people of this time. From that which we did not know, to that which we found amazing about you, it is simply stunning to finally see a whole multi-faced individual who we knew, yet we did not, yet we still did.

Foruming

Just some quick thoughts for the day.

Why do you staff on forums?

Why do you join forums? For fun, or because it’s interesting?

What would you do if a forum went offline permanently?

In regards to the recent InvisionFree server defacement, do you believe that some people take foruming too far?

Post some comments, please. I want to hear thoughts and opinions. :)
